Head and Neck Surgery
From 30th of November till 3rd of December 2014 two experienced ENT specialists from the Department of Leiden (The Netherlands) visited our Department in Poznań. The aim of the training visit was to get know with partial laryngectomies, open as well as endoscopically done in patients with laryngeal cancer. We have prepared 3 different partial surgeries to remove tumors in T1b-T3 stage and 2 laser surgeries for T1a and T1b tumors. Additionally, we have performed 3 phonosurgeries using NBI. At the end there was a lasting several hours salvage surgery due to reccurency of laryngeal, pharyngeal and maxillary cancer. For reconstruction we have used a free flap frop scapula with 2 islands. We have exchanged our experience of cancer treatment in the Netherlands and in Poland.
