On January 16-20, 2023, at the Institute of Practical Medicine Poznań-Lab, the first training cycle called "Poznań School of Otolaryngology" took place, which included three courses in the field of head and neck surgery: 1) neck, larynx and trachea surgery, 2) endoscopy of the paranasal sinuses (FESS), 3) ear microsurgery. The courses were conducted on unfixed preparations.
The training was organized by the Department of Otolaryngology and Laryngological Oncology of our University. The special guest was prof. Ulrich Harreus from Germany, and invited lecturers were Assoc. Prof. Mariola Zagor from Warsaw, Dr Daniela Mielcarek-Kuchta - from the Otolaryngology Department of the Hospital in Poznań, and Dr Łukasz Borucki - head of the Otolaryngology Department of the Municipal Hospital in Poznań. From the Poznan University School of Medical Sciences and the University Clinical Hospital, classes were conducted by: Assoc. Prof. Jaroslaw Szydłowski, Assoc. Prof. Jacek Banaszewski, Assoc. Prof. Małgorzata Leszczyńska, Assoc. Prof. Joanna Jackowska, Assoc. Prof. Anna Bartochowska, Assoc. Prof. Wojciech Gawęcki, Dr Joanna Witkiewicz, Dr Piotr Dąbrowski, Dr Andrzej Balcerowiak.
The courses enjoyed great interest, which confirms our belief in the essence of involvement in conducting this type of educational events. It is worth mentioning that after a month from the announcement of the dates, all places were taken. Therefore, we are planning further trainings.
