Head and Neck Surgery
During 9-12 Sept 2015 the 16th International Symposium "Oncology in Otolaryngology" has been held in Poznan, organized by Oncological Section of Polish Society of Otorhinolaryngologists Head and Neck Surgeons and Department of Otolaryngology Poznan University of Medical Sciences. The final number of participants was 412. Symposium started with 3 courses (50 participants and Prof. Cesare Piazza from Brescia).
21 the famoust specialists of otolaryngology and radiotherapy from all over the world have been participated: i.e. Prof. Kerry Olsen from Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Prof. Kevin Harrington from London or Prof. Michael Baumann from Dresden. All invited speakers presented 20-30 min. very interesting lectures with an intensive discussion. Between lectures there were 1-2 min. audio-video live connections with our operating theatre to present reconstructive surgery using free flap from the forearm. Due to medVC (medvc.eu) system and a cooperation with Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center the quality of transmitting video and audio was prefect.
