25 Oct 2012 - Surgery of cricoid cartilage reconstruction and anterior part of the trachea
In a patient with destroyed cricoid cartilage and total subglottal oblitaration of the larynx a reconstruction of cricoid cartilage using free vascluar flap from the lower part of the scapula was used. A distruction of cricoid cartilage was due to prolonged intubation This technique of using a part of scapula with a vascluar pedicle was published in Laryngoscope in February 2012. It is a first such a surgery in Poland.
